Study design

The team established an experimental silicosis model in mice and used RAW264.7 macrophage-line experiments. Target-identification work examined the proposed interaction between GHK-Cu and peroxiredoxin 6.

The paper reported reduced lung inflammation and fibrosis measures in mice and lower silica-induced oxidative stress in macrophages. The authors identified PRDX6 as a molecular target associated with these observations.
