Copper-GHK Nanofibers in a Photo-Crosslinked Hydrogel

This biomaterials study incorporated copper-complexed GHK nanofibers into a light-crosslinked hyaluronic-acid hydrogel and examined wound-related properties.

This biomaterials study incorporated copper-complexed GHK nanofibers into a light-crosslinked hyaluronic-acid hydrogel and examined wound-related properties.

Study design

Researchers characterised gel formation, stability and release, tested fibroblast-related responses, and evaluated the material in an in vivo wound model with measures including closure, collagen remodelling, fibroblast density and angiogenesis-related signals.

What the researchers reported

The copper-GHK nanofiber hydrogel was reported to improve several cellular and tissue measures compared with selected control formulations, including denser remodelled collagen and fibroblast growth in the animal model.

What this result does not establish

The findings relate to a complex engineered material whose behaviour cannot be attributed to GHK-Cu alone. Preclinical biomaterial performance does not establish clinical wound treatment.

This article summarizes one published study about GHK-Cu. It does not establish clinical efficacy, general safety, regulatory approval or suitability for human use. Findings should be interpreted within the model, methods and limitations of the original paper.

Our Approach

Evidence before assumption.
